Fluorescent lipid probes, derivatives of the rhodamine dyes

Abstract: Rhodamine lipid derivatives, rac-(2,3-dioleoyl)glycerol esters of Rhodamine B and Rhodamine 101, cis-9-octadecenyl homologue of Rhodamine 6G and cis-9-octadecenyl ester of Rhodamine 101, were synthesized and used as fluorescent membrane probes.
