Preparation of tetra- and tri-O-methyl ethers of methyl-α-D-mannopyranoside and their acetates

Abstract: A convenient technique of preparing tetra- and tri-O-methyl ethers of methyl-α-D-mannopyranoside by its partial methylation followed by liquid chromatography is suggested. All methyl ethers and their acetates were obtained in individual form, 13C NMR spectra are presented.
