A convenient method for the synthesis of 6-amino-6-deoxy-D-galactopyranose N-derivatives

Abstract: A new method for the synthesis of 6-amino-6-deoxy-D-galactopyranose N-derivati-ves by condensation of 6-deoxy-6-iodo-1,2;3,4-di-O-isopropylidene-α-D-galactopyranose with different amino acid methyl esters in DMF in the presence of Et3N is presented. FAB-MS and 1H NMR spectroscopy data are reported for the synthesized 6-amino-6-deoxy- D-galactopyranose derivatives.
