Synthesis of thioglycosphingolipids

Abstract: D-and L-galacto- and lactothiosphingolipids have been synthesized using racemic cis-4-iodomethyl-5-pentadecyl-Δ²-phenyloxazoline as a starting compound. Optically active products of glycosylationj of the starting compound with tetraacetyl-β-D-thiogalactose and heptaacetyl-β-D-thiolactose have been separated by column chromatography.
