SYNTHESIS OF CYCLO[ (l→6)-β- D -GALACTOFURANO] OLIGOSACCHARIDES

Abstract: Synthesis is described of bifunctional di- and trisaccharide monomers built up of [51-6-linked D-galactofuranose units and carrying 6-O-trityl and 1,2-O-(l-cyano)ethylidene groups at the extreme termini. They are converted into cyclic oligosaccharides by the-action of silver trifluoromethanesulfonate.
