Abstract: Application of the liquid secondary ion mass spectrometry (LSIMS) for quantitative evaluation of the fusicoccin terpenoids in the cultural liquid of Fusicoccum amygdali Del. has been studied. Function of the [M+Na]+ ion intensity ratio IC J H Ia versus the fusicoccin C, J or H amount being linear within 1–5 nmoles, fusicoccin C, J and H contents can be determined in mixtures containing known amount of fusicoccin A. For quantitative determination of fusicoccin A in the cultural liquids the isotopic dilution, method is suggested with [2H4]dihydrofusicoccin A as the internal standard.

It is shown that a rise in the relative polarity of compounds being analysed increases the LSIMS signal response.
